Local Students Earned Over $13,000
with Community Bank's Earn While You Learn Program
September 9, 2024
With the 2024-2025 school year underway, Community Bank wraps up the 2023-2024 Earn While You Learn Program. This year marked the fourteenth year and paid 354 local students a total of $13,080. During the program’s lifetime, students in Eastern Oregon and Southeastern Washington have received $174,302.
The program is designed to encourage students in their academic success by awarding Community Bank Youth Savings account customers for their good grades, while also teaching the importance of savings. Community Bank President, Tom Moran said, “It’s great to see so many kids participating in the program.”
During the months of June, July and August, all Community Bank branches accepted end-of-the-year report cards from students in 1st through 12th grade. For every top grade (indicated on the grading system used for each school) in a main school subject that appeared on the report card, Community Bank deposited $2, up to $50 into their Community Bank Youth Savings Account.
